Welcome to Our Stations of the Cross for Good Friday 2020
It is necessarily somewhat different to the way we usually approach this part of our Holy Week commemorations, but while we cannot gather in our Church building we nevertheless can gather as one in fellowship and faith through the medium of the internet.
What follows are a series of 14 readings, reflections and prayers. The readings have been recorded by members of the Church and we are grateful for their willingness to engage with, sometimes unfamiliar, technology to provide them for us. It is a true tonic to be able to both hear and see good friends again. The reflections and prayers are accompanied by images of the actual stations of the cross which encircle the walls of All Saints’ church here in Cotgrave.
This commemoration can be used at any point in the day, but I invite you, in your mind and heart to ‘gather’ at 2.00pm on Friday, wherever you may be, as we commence our pilgrimage. For that is what the Way of the Cross truly is - a journey in faith with Jesus into the mystery of God’s love for us. Take time to hear each reading, reflection and prayer in turn, and when you feel ready move on the next. So, let us as a community of faith make this pilgrimage with Jesus, Our Lord, commemorating his unconditional and perfect love for us.
